Fall Brings Outdoor Safety to the Forefront
Fall sports means students and coaches are outside in large numbers spread out over significant distances. It also means audiences for Friday night football. Already, games have been disrupted by thunderstorms.
But is your weather policy stronger than state guidelines? It better be. Does your staff have defined roles and do they know them? Because Thursday at 5pm or Friday at 8pm, your school has little staffing and large groups of people under your responsibility. This is one of the weakest areas for risk mitigation.
